This article explains step by step how to move the backup jobs to another computer.
If your old computer crashed and you can no longer access it:
- Install Backup4all on a new computer.
- Open in Backup4all the .bkc catalog files from the backup destination. The backup jobs will be loaded in Backup4all.
- Activate Backup4all on the new computer.
- You will be warned that the maximum activation number was reached, but you can reset the activations for that key from: https://www.backup4all.com/reset-request.html
If you want to move all your backup jobs and Backup4all settings to another computer:
- On the old computer, create a new backup job using the Backup4all configurations plugin as backup source:
- On the new computer, open in Backup4all the .bkc catalog file for that job, from the backup destination. This way, the backup job will be loaded in Backup4all.
- Restore that backup job to get all backup jobs back in application.
- Deactivate Backup4all on the old computer from File->Licensing->Deactivate
- Activate Backup4all on the new computer on File->Licensing page.
