By default, Backup4all will create a new entry in "Start menu->Backup4all x" . If you move it to another location, the default one will be recreated when you restart Backup4all. In order to put the Backup4all start menu entry into another location, you have to do that when you install Backup4all. In this article we will explain how to do that.

How to install Backup4all using the .exe file

Steps to follow:
  1. Download the .exe file from our website: http://download.backup4all.com/download/setup/b4asetup-full.exe
  2. Open command line (cmd) and type:
    b4asetup.exe -pSHORTCUTDIR="C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MyCustomFolderName\MycustomSubfolderName"
  3. The installation will start. Follow the normal steps and finish the installation.
    (for Windows XP, use the old path for Start menu folder)

How to install Backup4all using the .msi file

Steps to follow:
  1. Download the .exe file from our website: <http://download.backup4all.com/download/setup/b4asetup-full.exe>
  2. Open command line (cmd) and type:
    msiexec -i b4asetup.msi SHORTCUTDIR="C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\MyCustomFolderName\MycustomSubfolderName"
  3. The installation will start. Follow the normal steps and finish the installation.
    (for Windows XP, use the old path for Start menu folder)
