Lockergnome feature

Backup4all is a bargain

"Backup4all lives up to its marketing claims. It’s versatile, has all the features you need, and is easy to use. The beginner can easily get a good backup the first time. And the professional can tweak the program until his backup hums along exactly as he wants it to. It runs on every Windows OS from 95 to XP, too. From $25 - $45, depending on the version you buy, Backup4all is a bargain."

ProNetworks review

A wealth of features

"We were quite pleasantly surprised to find that Backup4all installed and worked well on the latest Vista release. While this is still a Beta Operating system, it is nice to see that this program seems to be Vista compatible and that it will even use the Vista Aero theme without difficulties."

Sofpedia pick

Rated excellent by Softpedia

"To be honest, I always say "I'll burn that backup folder someday this week" and the week passes without having my files backed up. With a program like Backup4all this issue can disappear, and the stress related to “what if my hard drive crashes” problem will disappear. I think that I'll leave the backup tasks for this program from now on. What about you?"

The Office Letter review

Backup4all is flexible

"You can’t be too careful about your data, and Backup4All does a good job using a well-designed interface, with plenty of bells and whistles for more experienced users. A "standard" version may be all you need if you don’t want e-mail notification or AES 128, 192, and 256-bit encryption."

Single or Multiple keys?

When ordering you have the possibility to choose to receive a single key to be used on Multiple Computers (MC) or multiple keys each of them to be used on a Single Computer (SC). The only difference between them is in the number of registration keys received (and the time it takes to receive those). For example, if you decide to purchase 100 licenses and you choose Multiple Computers when ordering, you will pay for 100 licenses but you will receive a single registration key valid for 100 computers. On the other hand, if you choose Single Computer, you will receive 100 distinct registration keys.

On both these licensing options the Backup4all functionality is the same. A single key for Multiple Computers is a method preferred by medium and large organizations where managing hundreds of registration keys is not an option. Multiple keys each for a Single Computer is preferred by home users and small organizations. As a note, when ordering multiple keys each one to be used on a Single Computer, the registration keys are delivered immediately after the payment is processed, while for Multiple Computers, receiving the registration key might take up to two days (they are processed manually).

Backup4all Standard

Backup4all Standard is an intermediate edition suitable for users that don't need all the features of Backup4all Professional. Compared to the Professional edition, Backup4all Standard lacks the incremental backup type, backing up to FTP, email notifications and AES encryption. Main features that this edition offers:
  • Full backup - starting point for all other backups, and contains all the data in the folders and files that are selected to be backed up
  • Differential backup - contains all files that have changed since the last full backup
  • Backup directly to CD, DVD, Blu-ray or HD-DVD - Backup4all has its own built-in CD, DVD, Blu-ray disc burning support

Backup4all Lite

Backup4all Lite edition implements the basic functionalities of a backup application, thus more suitable for home users that don't need the advanced backup features Standard or Professional have. Main features that this edition offers:
  • File filtering - powerful filtering engine with lots of options (filter by attribute, size, date, name and type)
  • Multiple backup job configurations
  • Intuitive interface - explorer-like, lets you see all files from the backup and new files that will be stored at the next backup execution

Backup4all Portable

Backup4all Portable is the only edition of Backup4all that can be installed on a USB flash drive and used only from it. This ensures portability because the USB flash drive can be plugged-in other computers and back them up. A unique features it has over the other editions is Plug'n'Backup, which basically means that whenever you insert the USB stick that has it installed in a computer, it will start backing up what you defined to.

While it has almost all the features of the Professional edition, due to its portability it doesn't support scheduled backups, MSI deployment, command line usage, creating shortcuts for backup job, running backups at shutdown/log-on/log-off and can be installed and used only on removable USB flash drives.
