Definition: Network backup is any backup system where the data to be backed up is moved over the network to reach the backup destination. The easiest way to perform network backups is to back up your data to a file server or a shared folder on a workstation. The backup destination can be a computer hard drive, an external drive or another supported media connected to a network computer.
