Backup4all does not need third party drivers or other CD or DVD burning software to be installed (like ActiveX, ASPI, etc) to be able to burn a CD or DVD. Backup4all has a built-in CD or DVD burner to backup to CD or DVD directly.
Set Up Internal CD or DVD Burner
There are three simple steps to set up the internal CD or DVD burner: 1) Open the Backup Properties window and go to the Destination page. 2) Select the drive letter for the CD or DVD burner device you want to use. If the CD or DVD device is compatible with the built-in burner, you will see the following message: [Device name] Using internal burner 3) In the same page, you can:
When you select the CD or DVD burner device, if it is not compatible with the primary built-in burner the following message will appear: [Device name] Does not appear to be a writer or it is busy. There are 2 possibilities now to get this to work: 1) Go to Tools->Options->CD or DVD, select Use secondary burning engine and make sure that Burn CD or DVD using internal ASPI is checked. 2) If selecting the secondary burner doesn't solve the problem, uncheck Burn CD or DVD using internal ASPI and restart Backup4all
Use internal CD and DVD burner
Typically, a backup to CD or DVD performs additional steps shown in the status bar at the bottom of the main window: burning, finalizing, and loading CD. During the last operation, the CD or DVD is ejected and reloaded. After this step the backup is tested and the CD or DVD ejected again (if these options are set). Backup4all can also perform an additional Erase CD/DVD... action for appropriate media (rewritable CDs or DVDs)
