Backup4all 4.2 (BETA) was released
The public beta release of Backup4all 4.2 is now ready for testing. This version is intended only for testing purposes, not for production use.

Compared to the previous version (v4.2), the BETA version of Backup4all 4.2 introduces new features and many enhancements and fixes, such as:
- New: Added Unicode filename support (files with non-standard characters can be easily backed up now)
- New: Backup4all is now compatible with 64-bit operating systems too
- New: Environment Variables can be used when defining new filters (e.g. %temp%, %SystemRoot%)
- New: File versions can be compared now
- New: Added "Select columns" option in the right-click menu of the versions section (Explore View)
- New: Added option to select new filetype for log files (.txt is accepted now too, given that .log files cannot be opened on Blackberry devices)
- New: Added option "Remove from sources" when right-clicking a file in Explore View
- New: Added "Run With" and "Job Type" in schedule lists
- New: Added a new button for "Ignore all" during restore
- New: Added message for mirror backups to FTP when splitting large files and there is not enough space in temp (Ftp allows files of max 2GB)
- New: Added notification if the CTM gets corrupted (ask user to reinstall application)
- Update: If the notification email has an attachment larger than the sending limit, only the email is sent (without attachment)
- Update: Sources can be modified now even after selecting a Predefined Backup job (this way a backup job can be used as a "template" for future backup jobs)
- Fix: Various fixes for mirror backups (with zip) to removable drives and FTP
- Fix: In particular cases the .bkc got corrupted
Notes regarding the BETA release:
- Backup4all 4.2 BETA installs separately from any previous version, so that it can be tested without interferring with your other Backup4all installation.
- If you import backup jobs from your other installation into the BETA version, you won't be able to use them back into the other installation, unles you upgrade to the final 4.2 version.
- Backup4all 4.2 BETA is intended for testing purposes only and will expire after 30 days. It does not require a registration key because it is intended for testing only.
- The BETA version has the features of the Professional edition, in order to allow beta-testers to test all the features.
- Once the final release of 4.2 will be available, registered users of version 4.x will be able to upgrade for free (registration key will be recognized).

Backup software for Windows 7 - Backup4all 4
Backup4all 4 was tested and is fully compatible with Windows 7 RC (version 6.1.7100).
We've ensured compatibility even since the first beta release was available, and the fact that Backup4all works with the release candidate version means that it will be for sure compatible with the final release of Windows 7. This way early adopters will be able to continue to use Backup4all to protect important data on Windows 7 too.

Backup4all 4.1 was released

Compared to the previous version (v4.0), Backup4all 4.1 introduces new features and many enhancements and fixes , such as:
- New: Backup to Blu-ray discs and HD-DVD (or from Blu-ray/HD DVD) is now supported
- New: Added support for backing up to dual layer DVDs
- New: Added plugin to backup Microsoft Outlook automatically
- New: Added show excluded file no. and excluded folder no. (in Test/Cleanup window, Backup View, Restore/Choose backup numbers window)
- New: Added text description field for selected filter in Options->Filters
- New: "Check all"/"Uncheck all" buttons were added to Restore Wizard
- New: Added the possibility to enable/disable automatic weekly updates during setup
- New: Added new predefined splits for Blu-ray and dual layer DVDs

Backup software for Windows 7 - Backup4all 4
We're happy to announce that Backup4all 4 was tested and is fully compatible with Windows 7 (beta).
We tested Backup4all with Windows 7 version 6.1.7000 and until the final version of Windows 7 is released, we will download the new beta releases and test Backup4all with them, making corrections (if necessary) so that Backup4all will be fully compatible from the first day of Windows 7's availability.

Backup4all 4 BETA 3 was released

This third beta release of Backup4all 4 introduces several fixes and enhancements, such as:
- Trial period extended with 30 more days
- File paths from destination are listed in the test log
- Mirror backup: if a source drive is not available (network share, usb stick, ...) then the files from that drive are not excluded from backup
- Scheduler: "Abort backup when network sources are not available" option applies to all types of sources
- Fixed: Pause backup during file splitting did not work properly
- Fixed: Wrong error message generated when adding the same plugin twice
- Fixed: Save the layout of the Backup View
- Fixed: Backup execution status was not changed when warnings or errors occured during Test
- Fixed: Bkc file was not deleted from the catalog folder if a job was deleted from interface
