I have lost my Registration key. What should I do?

If you have lost your registration key please contact us at sales@backup4all.com. Please specify (if possible) your order number, name and email used to buy online.

Can I use my registration key on two computers?

According to the license agreement your product can only be used on one computer at a time. If you want to use Backup4all on a different computer, you have to uninstall it first from the first computer and re-install it on the second one. To use Backup4all simultaneously on two computers you need to acquire 2 licenses. How do I register Backup4all?

The difference between the unregistered version of Backup4all and the registered one is that the unregistered version will expire after 30 days unless you purchase a license and register it. If you don’t own a license yet, you can order it directly by clicking on the Buy Now button or visiting the Buy Now page.

After you purchase a license for Backup4all, you should receive an email that contains a Registration name and a Registration key. Once you received that email, follow these steps to register Backup4all:

  • Open Backup4all, click on Help and select Register
  • In the Register window, click on the Register tab
  • Copy and paste the registration information you received by email in those two fields (Registration Name and Registration Key).
  • Press the Register button. You should receive a success message that Backup4all is registered (if you receive a message that the registration has failed make sure that you copy/paste the registration information correctly).

When I try to register, I receive the error "Registration failed". What should I do?

First try to copy and paste the registration information exactly as you have received it in your email (no leading or trailing spaces). Also, you may be running Norton Antivirus Auto Protect or similar software that is preventing programs from adding/modifying registry keys. You will need to disable this type of software temporarily, in order to register Backup4all, as your registration details are stored in the registry.

What is the difference between the unregistered and the registered versions?

The unregistered version has all the features of Backup4all Professional, but after 30 days you cannot use it unless you register it. Also, even if support is free, registered users get priority support.

What are the differences between the three editions of Backup4all (Lite, Standard and Professional)?

Backup4all Professional has all the features enabled, while Backup4all Standard and Lite have limited functionality. In order to help you decide on what edition best suits your needs, please visit the Feature Matrix page.

Can I create a backup CD/DVD with the information for my registered Backup4all copy?

Yes, we actually recommend that you create a backup disk after you buy and download Backup4all that contains the registration information for Backup4all and the setup file. This way if your computer crashes you can use the backup CD to reinstall and register your licensed copy of Backup4all and prevent losing a program that you purchased.

You can download the setup file for Backup4all using the download page: Download Backup4all. After you purchase a license key for Backup4all you will receive an email that contains a Registration name and Registration key. If you do not have that email anymore you can contact us and we will send it to you (assuming you're using the same email address you used when you ordered it, or have the order id number).

Do I need multiple Backup4all licenses?

The Backup4all license is per computer, not per user.
If you want to install Backup4all on multiple computers, you need multiple licenses - one for each computer running Backup4all.

Why I cannot register Backup4all?

Fist, please make sure you use the correct registration name and key. Second, please make sure you use an administrator account. Backup4all cannot be registered using a limited account type.
