Lockergnome feature

Backup4all is a bargain

"Backup4all lives up to its marketing claims. It’s versatile, has all the features you need, and is easy to use. The beginner can easily get a good backup the first time. And the professional can tweak the program until his backup hums along exactly as he wants it to. It runs on every Windows OS from 95 to XP, too. From $25 - $45, depending on the version you buy, Backup4all is a bargain."

ProNetworks review

A wealth of features

"We were quite pleasantly surprised to find that Backup4all installed and worked well on the latest Vista release. While this is still a Beta Operating system, it is nice to see that this program seems to be Vista compatible and that it will even use the Vista Aero theme without difficulties."

Sofpedia pick

Rated excellent by Softpedia

"To be honest, I always say "I'll burn that backup folder someday this week" and the week passes without having my files backed up. With a program like Backup4all this issue can disappear, and the stress related to “what if my hard drive crashes” problem will disappear. I think that I'll leave the backup tasks for this program from now on. What about you?"

The Office Letter review

Backup4all is flexible

"You can’t be too careful about your data, and Backup4All does a good job using a well-designed interface, with plenty of bells and whistles for more experienced users. A "standard" version may be all you need if you don’t want e-mail notification or AES 128, 192, and 256-bit encryption."

Backup4all does not need third party drivers or other burning software installed to be able to write a backup to DVD because it has its own built-in DVD burners to backup directly to DVD. Furthermore, Backup4all can back up to most CD and DVD formats, including the new Blu-ray and HD-DVD (discontinued) discs.

DVD formats supported by Backup4all:
  • DVD+R. Backup4all can back-up to DVD+R up to 4.7 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • DVD+R DL (dual-layer), a derivative of the DVD+R format that supports dual layer technology, providing two individual recordable layers on a single-sided DVD disc. Backup4all can back-up to DVD+R DL up to 8.5 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • DVD+RW, a rewritable format that can be overwritten several times. Backup4all can back-up to DVD+RW up to 4.7 GB of data (writen data is not permanent thus can be erased if needed).
  • DVD-R, a format similar to DVD+R. Backup4all can back-up to DVD-R up to 4.7 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • DVD-R DL (dual-layer). This is a derivative of the DVD-R format that supports dual layer technology, providing two individual recordable layers on a single-sided DVD disc. Backup4all can back-up to DVD-R DL up to 8.5 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • DVD-RW. A rewritable format that can be overwritten several times. Backup4all can back-up to DVD-RW up to 4.7 GB of data (writen data is not permanent thus can be erased if needed).
  • DVD-RAM. A rewritable format that can be overwritten several times. Backup4all can back-up to DVD-RAM up to 9.4 GB of data for double-sided DVD-RAMs, or up to 4.7 GB for single sided DVD-RAMs.
Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats supported by Backup4all:
  • BD-R (Blu-ray Disc recordable), is one of the successor of DVD format. Backup4all can back-up to BD-R up to 25 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • BD-RE (Blu-ray Disc re-recordable), is practically the same as BD-R except that data can be erased from it and re-writen. Backup4all can back-up to BD-RE up to 25 GB of data.
  • BD-R DL is a recordable Blu-ray Disc that uses dual layer technology. Backup4all can back-up to BD-RE up to 50 GB of data (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • BD-RE DL, re-recordable Blu-ray Disc using dual layer technology. Backup4all can back-up to BD-RE DL up to 50 GB of data (data can be erased and re-writen several times).
  • HD DVD-ROM, HD DVD-R and HD DVD-RW, both single layer and dual layer discs. Even if the HD DVD format has been discontinued in early 2008, Backup4all can back-up to HD-DVD discs up to 15 GB (for single layer discs) and 30 GB (for double layer discs).
CD formats supported by Backup4all:
  • CD-R, a recordable compact disc with capacity of up to 750 MB. Backup4all can back up to CD-R (writen data is permanent and cannot be erased).
  • CD-RW, a rewritable compact disc with capacity of up to 750 MB. Backup4all can back up to CD-RW (data can be erased and re-writen).
